British
Mountaineering Council
The BMC (British Mountaineering Council) is the representative body
that exists to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of
climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers, including ski-mountaineers.
The BMC recognises that climbing, hill walking and mountaineering
are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants
in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and
be responsible for their own actions.
Mountain
Leader Training Wales
Mountain Leader Training Wales / Hyfforddi Arweinwyr Mynydd Cymru
administers four training schemes for experienced adults who wish
to lead walking groups in moorland and mountain terrain or rock climbing
groups on single pitch crags and climbing walls.
ukCaving
ukCaving is dedicated to caving and underground exploration in the
uk and the activities of uk cavers overseas.
Yorkshire
Subterranean Society
The Yorkshire Subterranean Society was formed by three avid cavers
from Pontefract in 1964. Initially they called themselves ‘The
Undertakers Society’ but after adverse publicity they changed
the name to the ‘Yorkshire Subterranean Society’ in August
1965.
Caving.UK
Whatever
is happening within the caving world, this is the place to be, but
rest assured that very firmly in mind here at Descent is the fact
that the paper-based edition will not lose its identity.
